    Description

ELECTRO-VULC MARK 1 Vulcanizer used for making rubber molds for lost wax casting. Great for making master molds of your jewelry for production work. EXCLUSIVE FEATURES: Heavy duty cast iron construction, deluxe heated dual plates Ultra sensitive capillary thermostat to ensure precise and consistent temperature control Steel framed ceramic-mica heating elements 6 amp, 600 watts.
I bought it new in the early 1980s and used it to make over 100 molds.  I disassembled it and rewired both plates using the original fabric coated 8 gauge copper wire.  I matched the color and repainted it with high quality enamel paint, I'll include what is left of the paint.  I polished and lubricated all of the exposed steel, it raises and lowers as new.
This is the original model designed by Manfred Haechtel - Haechtel Instrument Co.  It was made for small shops that didn't want to wait in line for their rubber molds from a large vulcanizing company.  I spoke with Mr. Haechtel several months ago, he told me that he made a model from wood then sent it to a tool making machine shop to have it made in metal.  His 1st sale turned into a dozen and he ended up selling approx. 1,500 of them.  When you see an "Electro Vulc-II" you are seeing a cheapened model that Mr. Haechtel had nothing to do with.  As far as I know there is no better vulcanizer for a small to medium sized jewelry shop on the market.
